LIFE IT’S WORTH THINKING ABOUT – from radio spots by Mal Garvin

In the spirit of Christmas a mum has come up with an alternate rendering of the 12 days of Christmas. It goes like this: –

“On the twelfth day of Christmas my littlest love gave to me,
12 dogs a leaping
11 cats a creeping
10 fingers dripping
9 toes a tripping
8 drinks a spilling
7 glasses filling
6 friends and things
5 telephone rings
4 crayoned walls
3 loud calls
2 kisses free
and a mother up a gum tree!”

Christmas brings out the best and worst in us doesn’t it? The kids are on holidays and under our feet. So much to do by a certain deadline with a limited budget, yet it all causes us to re-arrange our lives at least for a few weeks, because of those we treasure. There may be stresses but we are also reminded of our blessings and they have got to be worth thinking about.

“He sets the time for birth and the time for death,
the time for planting and the time for pulling up
the time for killing and the time for healing,
the time for sorrow and the time for joy
the time for mourning and the time for dancing.”.
Eccl. 3:2

I love the way you made room for us by coming at Christmas,
and that your birthday is celebrated by a universal yearning to make room for others…
Love you Lord
